Calling Scotland’s Food and Drink Producers

Stirling Highland Games is a traditional highland games event held annually in Stirling on the 3rd weekend in August and is calling on all Scotland Food & Drink traders to be part of our 2016 highland games.

As well as delivering our traditional competition events such as Heavyweights, track and field, tug o war, wrestling and Highland Dancing we also work closely with Scotland Food & Drink so we can showcase a selection of top quality Scottish produce in line with Scotland’s Food Charter for Events.

Each year Scotland hosts thousands of events of all shapes and sizes. Research shows that visitors to Scotland want to sample and buy traditional, Scottish dishes, regional specialties and fresh, locally-sourced food. The Food Charter for events aims to raise the standard and provenance of food and drink at events to ensure a better visitor experience.

With over 4000 games visitors in 2015, last year’s food and drink quality was rated at a healthy ‘19% Very Good’ and ‘46% Good’. We aim to build on this success in 2016 by encouraging up to 20 high quality artisan style market traders, with a proven track record in trading at outdoor events and festivals and who are committed to the Food Charter, to apply.

If you can sign up to the Charter and provide evidence of how your offering meets the requirements, Stirling Highland Games would welcome an application from you.

If you wish to discuss any matter beforehand or would like an application please doesn’t hesitate to get in touch.
