Robert the Bruce + Q and A with Angus Macfadyen and Robert Gray
When Robert The Bruce, the sequel to Braveheart, screens at Macrobert Arts Centre on Fri 28 Jun audiences are in for a treat as Angus Macfadyen (Robert the Bruce himself) will be on hand for a Q&A in person after the film. He’ll be joined by the film’s director Richard Gray and with tickets from only £4.50 this is a not-to-be-missed night out so why not make a weekend of it by staying in Stirling.
Angus Macfadyen is reprising the role he played in Mel Gibson’s multi-Oscar-winning film as well as making a welcome return to Macrobert, where he joined a variety of stars for the 1995 premiere of Braveheart. The Scottish-born actor has been in a variety of films, playing well-known roles including Edward ‘Blackbeard’ Teach and Orson Welles. He has also worked alongside the likes of Sandra Bullock, Christian Bale and Matt Damon.
Robert the Bruce, which will screen at Macrobert until Thu 4 Jul and follows the former King of Scotland over a long winter in the Highlands. Delving into a story when his whereabouts were unknown, the film focuses on a caring, peasant family. Their connection with Robert inspired him to a deeper understanding of the patriotism of ordinary Scots, ultimately bringing about his passionate return to the stage, to victory and to independence for Scotland.
